May 20, 2020

We have taken the difficult decision to cancel our in-person Golf tournaments in 2020. We are hard at work thinking through when and how we can continue to raise funds for our crucial work overseas.

The health and safety of our supporters, volunteers, and staff are paramount to us. Unfortunately, it has become clear that hosting large gatherings over the next four months would defy public health advice and put our community at unacceptable risk.

For 20 years, our tournaments across Canada have contributed to Aga Khan Foundation Canada’s programming in Africa and Asia. These programs include investments in health care, and they are already pivoting to respond to the pandemic.

While we develop alternate plans for our Golf tournaments, we are not undertaking any fundraising. However, the need overseas continues. As a result, the Aga Khan Development Network has launched the Global Pandemic Relief Fund. This is in response to many supporters who have come forward seeking ways to contribute to the AKDN’s work to address the crisis. You can learn more at akfc.ca/pandemicfund
