Donor Doubles the Drive
As a corporate leader, Mr. Zahir Karim recognizes the power, passion and drive that weaves through the heart of Canadian businesses. He also firmly believes these assets must be harnessed to create champions in the fight against global poverty. As such, this year, he is committed to helping stretch the philanthropic thread that ties corporate Canada to poor, distant communities by matching every dollar raised through World Partnership Golf.
For close to two decades, Mr. Karim has donated to Aga Khan Foundation Canada’s poverty alleviation initiatives; not only because he is part of an increasingly smaller, more connected world, but also because he realizes the immense impact business leaders and caring corporations can have on the lives of vulnerable families.
His decision to double funds for the 2008 campaign is rooted in a long-standing personal mission. Born and raised in Tanzania, he has witnessed the struggle of communities hobbled by poverty and as a result, has been invigorated from a young age with a vital call to action.
Today, as a business leader, global citizen and Canadian, he feels we have a responsibility and the capacity to become agents of change. Please join in the fight against global poverty.
