About World Partnership Golf
World Partnership Golf was launched nationally in 2000 by Aga Khan Foundation
Canada as a fun and engaging way for Canadians to raise funds and awareness
about international development initiatives that help poor and vulnerable
communities in Africa and Asia.
The tournaments, held in eight cities across Canada, offer participants the
opportunity to get actively involved in helping to address the cause of global
poverty. Individuals and businesses can participate in World Partnership Golf in
a variety of ways, from putting together foursomes to sponsoring and promoting
tournaments across the country.
Some World Partnership Golf highlights include:
- An exciting national program with events held in Victoria, Vancouver,
Calgary, Edmonton, London, Toronto, Ottawa and Montréal.
- More than 1000 golfers signed up to participate.
- More than 200 corporate sponsors support World Partnership Golf events.
- A variety of sponsorship opportunities available at each tournament to
provide those involved with maximum exposure.
- Lots of extras to make for a fun day of golf - special gifts, draws,
prizes, great food and much more!
The World Partnership Golf tournaments help Aga
Khan Foundation Canada (AKFC) to support well-managed, long-term programs in
health, education, rural development and strengthening community organizations
in developing countries. Funds raised also help leverage additional support from
major donors such as the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
This year, we invite golfer's to explore AKFC's work in
Education: a "driver" of sustainable development.
