World Partnership Golf was launched nationally in 2000 by Aga Khan
Foundation Canada as an engaging way for Canadians to raise funds
and awareness of global development projects that assist the poor and disadvantaged
in Asia and Africa.
The tournaments, held in six cities
across Canada, offer participants the opportunity to get actively
involved in helping to address global poverty. Individuals and businesses
with a willingness to help make the world a better place can participate
in World Partnership Golf in a variety of ways, from putting together
foursomes to sponsoring and promoting tournaments across the country.
Some World Partnership Golf highlights:
- An exciting national golf program conducted in Montreal, Ottawa,
Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver.
- More than 800 golfers participate.
- More than 200 corporate sponsors support World Partnership Golf
events.
- A variety of sponsorship opportunities are available at each
tournament to provide those involved with maximum exposure.
- Net fundraising proceeds help Aga Khan Foundation Canada leverage additional support from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and other donors around the world.
- Lots of extras - like special gifts & prizes/great food etc.
The tournaments support poverty alleviation through Aga Khan Foundation
Canada programs that are focused on education, health care, rural
development and the building of strong community-based organizations.
